Flo Hyman Award

Congratulations to Miranda Jauregui!

We are proud to share that our very own Miranda Jauregui was honored yesterday during UTEP’s National Girls and Women in Sports Day Celebration.

Miranda was recognized on Thursday, Feb. 5, during the UTEP women’s basketball game against LA Tech at the Don Haskins Center. During a special halftime ceremony, she was celebrated as one of three outstanding student‑athletes selected from the El Paso community—representing the elementary, middle, and high school levels.

This award highlighted students who demonstrate excellence in athletics, academics, leadership, and community service. Miranda truly exemplifies all of these qualities, and we are incredibly proud of her achievements both on and off the field.

The award is named in memory of Flo Hyman, a legendary American volleyball player and advocate for gender equality in sports. Her legacy continues to inspire young women nationwide to lead, compete, and make a positive impact.

Please join us in congratulating Miranda on this meaningful honor!
