Parkland High School Matador Choir
Choir Teacher: Eun-Mee Garza
The purpose of the Parkland High School Choir program is to be highly visible and a positive representative of Parkland High School. Our goal is to consistently achieve a standard of excellence in the performing arts while still giving its members a feeling of teamwork, work ethic, personal responsibility and commitment. With the help of the Parkland High School Choir program, its members receive fine training in the classical arts. The Matador Choir has excelled in various competitions: UIL Choir Competition, UIL Solo & Ensemble in Region & State, TMEA All-Region, Area & State Competition, the National WorldStrides Heritage Performance, etc. The Parkland High School Choir has demonstrated that we are not only one of the most musical choirs, if not one of the smartest, through our UIL Sight Reading competitions, where we have earned superior ratings. In addition to these intense competitions, we participate in district Honor Choir and we have two mandatory campus choir concerts. PHS Choir also takes part in community outreach programs such as MADD, singing for United State of America Sergeants Major Memorial Chapel and singing the national anthem for various organizations as community service. Our passion is to live a musical life and it is a mode of expression we will follow as our path. Each year our seniors receive scholarships from prestigious universities.
